The deep-dark-green Christmas Moss ((Vesicularia dubyana christmas) from the Vesicularia family... more

The deep-dark-green Christmas Moss ((Vesicularia dubyana christmas) from the Vesicularia family originates from Indonesia and is found there in rivers and lakes. Christmas Moss is mainly characterized by its dense and regular growth. The special name of the Christmas Moss comes from the shape of its shoots: like fir branches the Christmas Tree Moss fans out.

Christmas moss is an extremely popular moss among aquarists. It is a fairly easy plant to keep that likes sunny to partial shady light. Our tip: In good lighting, dense branching will develop. In low lighting, on the other hand, the moss tends to produce long shoots with rather short branches. By fertilizing this moss with micro and macro nutrients, as well as some CO2, the moss will grow a little faster and with a stronger green color. Christmas tree moss grows horizontally and attaches well. It will also look beautiful on your hardscape. Due to its versatility, this moss is suitable for demanding aquascapes as well as for beginner aquariums. Furthermore, mosses offer a large settlement area for microorganisms, which are ideally suited for shrimp tanks.

Tie the Christmas Moss to a root or stone with a thread after receiving it. Important: Christmas moss is somewhat sensitive to new environments, so give it some time after placing it in your tank.

This Christmas Moss comes from our own breeding facility and may therefore contain snails. We always try our best to remove snails from the moss before shipping it. There are no pests like planaria in our tanks. In our breeding facility Christmas Moss grows without CO2 and fertilizer in medium light conditions.
