Bienengarnelen für Garnelenaquarium kaufen

The Bee shrimp is equally interesting for beginners and professional breeders: The Caridina logemanni has been considered an independent shrimp species for several years and is very suitable for keeping in aquariums with a tank volume of 20l. With a size of two to three centimeters, the shrimp with the catchy name is a small but great enrichment for your shrimp tank! In fact, the bee shrimp originates from Asia: in shallow waters in the forests around Hong Kong, the Bee shrimp can still be found in its natural environment. In the wild, the Bee shrimp has black and white stripes. Professionals bred the Crystal Black and Crystal Red shrimps from the wild Bee shrimp and created the bright red and white coloration. The well-known Red- and Black Bees were also created by selection of the classic bee shrimp. There are few limits to the color variety of the bee shrimp!

These beautiful animals not only offer a unique aesthetics. There are also a lot of possibilities to breed them. Thus, whether deliberately or unconsciously, new patterns and colors are created. The Bees have a life span of a maximum of two years. With good feeding, the animals can age healthily. The right living conditions also contribute to a long lifespan: If the water is particularly warm, the lifespan is reduced. This is due to a faster metabolism.

Feeding Bee shrimp: If you want to do something good for your Bee shrimp, it is best to offer sufficient hiding places such as foliage or plants. Soft water is a must for this type of shrimp, as overly hard water promotes disease and causes stress for the little Bees. For this reason, we offer osmosis systems that produce softened water for your Bee shrimp aquarium. With our high-quality salts, you can also soften your water and provide an optimal environment for the Bee shrimp. In their natural habitat, Bee shrimp feed mostly on plant debris and what is known as growth. By growth we mean all biofilms that deposit on the bottom of the aquarium and objects. But also food sticks or pastes are gladly eaten by the Bee shrimps.

By the way: The male bee shrimp are usually somewhat smaller than the females, which are larger and plumper. The females are also marked with an egg spot in their neck. Under her skirt the female carries egg-pockets, which later contain about 30 eggs. After about 4 weeks of development the new young shrimp hatch out of the eggs and hide. If you are looking for great Bee shrimp, you can find them in our store! If you have any questions about raising Bee shrimp or buying new ones, feel free to contact us. We at the Garnelencenter Lemgo specialize in shrimps because these beautiful invertebrates are our passion. If you have any questions about socialization or the right food, you can consult us.
